La Finnish Nature League cerca volontari per lavorare a diversi progetti di protezione e studio dell'ambiente e/o di educazione ambientale rivolta ai bambini. Il candidato ideale ha interesse per questi temi, parla Inglese ad un livello buono e ha conoscenze (anche base) del computer.
The volunteer would be placed in the central office of the Finnish Nature League in Helsinki, which is the capital of Finland. There are about 15 regular members of staff in the office, and activists also regularly gather there for meetings.
The volunteer should have an interest in environmental issues and be motivated to partake in the work of the organisation. He or she should have basic knowledge of English and at least basic computer skills. It is an advantage if the volunteer has some kind of special field of interest or skill, which he or she can teach in the organisation or which makes him or her suitable to work on a specific project.
The volunteer’s tasks in the office depend on his or her interests, but would normally include both regular office tasks and project related tasks. He or she can also help to organise children and youth camps, to organise a course or workshop on a special topic, or to work on a campaign with an international dimension such as Buy Nothing Day.
The working hours of the volunteer is 35 h/week, with free weekends and two days of holiday per month, which can be saved up for a longer summer or winter holiday. The volunteer can also join activities of The Finnish Nature League, such as camps and excursions, in his or her free time.
The volunteer will have the opportunity to learn about issues related to nature protection, environmental policy and environmental education, about NGO working methods and about the decision making structure of a grassroots organisation.
